Beaches!

Have we mentioned we LOVE going to the beach!? We are having so much fun exploring beaches on the island, picking out our favorites to take YOU to when you come visit!=)

Logan A.K.A. Fish Boy (Also first test of our waterproof camera)

Sea cucumbers / snails - a local boy showed the boys how to gently squeeze it & water squirts out like a squirt gun!

Keiki Ponds - right in town...great place for the littles to play & swim!

Wawaloli beach...we actually ran into the same local kid & his dad here! They had a mini sea fishing lesson

All these are from Kua Bay today.  Very nice for Boogieboarding and little girls who eat sand.
Oliver is offically not afraid of the ocean anymore and loves to use rocket boosters to beat the waves.

Overall we are doing great.  We are starting to find a new routine in paradise.  Work is going really well so far and I am enjoying riding my bike to work although ran into a downpour coming home the other day and looked like a drowned rat by the time I made it home.  We are really enjoying getting to know the locals here and so far everyone has been incredibly friendly.  We are learning so much about this state which really feels like another country, and the kids are soaking in all in like sponges.  We haven't started to talk with a Hawaiian accent but I hear that happens with time whether you notice it or not.  Lots of Yahhs at the end of questions, etc. We all truly miss Bend and Oregon a lot but more because of all the people than the location.  We hope everyone is well and we want to hear from YOU!!  Please post a comment and we will try to communicate back!  If any of you reading this are from Clay's or Logan's School or from church- they would LOVE to hear from you!!   The invitation is still open for all who would like to come visit!
God is Good ALL the time- we are reminded everyday with the beauty around us.  Don't ever forget that he is sovereign over all- lean on to His precious promises and He will not fail you.

Love,

The Russells

  2. Hello to all six of you,

We love to see your pictures and hear about your fun new experiences. Dad and I are glad that you are settling in and finding a new normal. Don't forget where home really is!! We are looking forward to seeing you in about a month. We mailed a big envelope of mail to you this week and hopefully you have already received it. Squeeze each of those sweet kids for us. We can't believe that it has only been less than a month since we took you to the airport in Seattle, it seems much longer.

    We love each of you.

    1. Oh, don't worry...we luv Bend! We are reminding the kids though that home is wherever we are together =) Thanks for the mail! We squeeze the kids everyday for you! I agree, it does seem longer than 1 month ago that we left! But, in some ways, time is flying. Love ya both!

  3. Good Friday Evening! It's been incredibly wet here, speaking of drowned rats. We had a lot of flooding last week in our area but not at the house. I have to remind myself the rain is the reason it is so green and beautiful here.

We're so thankful all is going well for you. It surely is an adventure for the whole family. Keep the pictures coming - they tell the story so well.

The news from here is pretty mundane. I'm working with the K - 5 kids at the afterschool program at church. They're great kids with lots of energy and entusiasm. Lallie, I don't know how you do it. You're amazing! I'm going to Utah in two weeks for a visit. I can hardly believe Abbott will turn 6 months old while I'm there. He's such a cutie.

Take care of all 6 of you.

    Love, Aunt Cindi
