Time to reflect a bit ...

Well- we have been in our new home for almost 1 week now and are still in a daze that this has all really happened.  Somehow we were able to move 4 kids, 20x8x8 container of stuff, and a suburban across about 3000 miles of ocean without a major incident or loss of limb.  If this is not categorized as a logistical nightmare, I really don't know what is!  The truth is that there is not a question in our minds as to how this all actually happened.  There's no somehow just some One.  God has had his hand in this transition every single crazy step of the way without a doubt.  He has blessed us and continues to bless us with incredibly generous family and friends and we thank Him everyday for you all. Thank you for your support and prayers I guarantee you that they have made a difference in our family and we give all the glory to the One who has directed us on this path.
We could really go on and on about how beautiful this place is but we don't want you to think we are bragging or something as that is certainly never our intent.  But, every evening we have the privilege of watching the sun extinguish behind the ocean from our lanai and are reminded of His incredible creation.  It is so strange to be in the house working on the dishwasher or something and 15 minutes later be snorkeling and reveling in hundreds of amazing fish and turtles ALL His handiwork.  It is truly a blessed opportunity that we are experiencing here and are trying to not to have the "too good to be true" mentality although I find myself slipping into that briefly at times.
Overall- the house is great and the neighbors are very friendly.  The kids have already made many "friends" in the cul-de-sac and it will be good for them as we move into home schooling.  Logan is an excellent snorkeler already and Clay is right behind him.  Oliver is loving the beach time and manages to gets sand places that you didn't think were possible.  Evie loves to eat sand as a midday snack and we can't keep her out of the waters.  Lallie has made many new friends in the form of Geckos and cockroaches who also are renting this house apparently.  Not sure how we are going to split utilities with them yet.  The geckos are helpful in reminding us how much we can save on car insurance in a delightful English accent it is so hard to resist. Although, since we have been with State Farm for so long we have to politely decline.
We went to church today for the first time as a family and really liked it.  It seems at this point, it will be a good fit for us.  The kids are going to start Awana tomorrow night which will be a really good thing for them.  Lallie is easing into home schooling this week and the boys are eager to start- although both boys have already met all the benchmarks for their grades for the rest of the year.  As for my new job, so far so good.  I only worked one day last week and will be training more this week. I will start riding my bike to and from work if weather permits (which it usually should) which will be good for me to start exercising regularly again.
FYI- we will try to update our blog every Sunday faithfully and then in between for "breaking news" that just can't wait until then.  Please comment on this site and we can all keep in touch.  We will add more pictures in the next couple of days.
Love to all- Lukelas

  1. Not sure if you got our last message=(. Lidia from Clays old Kindergarten class says,

    Dear Clay,
I miss you. I really hope you will come back. Because you're my best friend, right? I really really hope you're my friend still. Have fun in Hawaii!
    Bye.
