Beaches!

Image
Have we mentioned we LOVE going to the beach!? We are having so much fun exploring beaches on the island, picking out our favorites to take YOU to when you come visit!=) Logan A.K.A. Fish Boy (Also first test of our waterproof camera) Sea cucumbers / snails - a local boy showed the boys how to gently squeeze it & water squirts out like a squirt gun! Keiki Ponds - right in town...great place for the littles to play & swim! Wawaloli beach...we actually ran into the same local kid & his dad here! They had a mini sea fishing lesson              All these are from Kua Bay today.  Very nice for Boogieboarding and little girls who eat sand. Oliver is offically not afraid of the ocean anymore and loves to use rocket boosters to beat the waves. Overall we are doing great.  We are starting to find a new routine in paradise.  Work is going really well so far and I am enjo...

Our fun in Hawaii

Aloha everybody, this is Logan. Even if you aren't a family member I bet you would want to hear this. We have been having a great time snorkling, killing cockroaches (not), catching geckos and toads. The first toad that I caught peed on me (sounds gross but I LOVE IT).  Our worst problem is sugar ants, they get in to any open food, we put out poison but they just keep coming. Our jacuzzi isn't really too thrilling either. To get out all the water you have to use a bucket, and all the gross stuff keeps coming so soon it's full of dead mosquitos and pee. We've had fun going to the beach, one time at a beach there were about 8 seaturtles laying on the rocks and I got to get really close to them. We've heard a problem, if you have a hard time posting, email us at youngrussells@yahoo.com . I miss you.     Logan

Sorry it has taken us so long to post pics of our house...this is our new home! The sun setting behind the ocean...view from our lanai! Back yard & cute Oliver! Back lanai Look what they found...they love 'em...mommy not so much! Family room & brothers getting along! It's happening more & more these days! Sweet baby This is what happens when it rains in Kona! Ready, set, SLOW!

Time to reflect a bit ...

Well- we have been in our new home for almost 1 week now and are still in a daze that this has all really happened.  Somehow we were able to move 4 kids, 20x8x8 container of stuff, and a suburban across about 3000 miles of ocean without a major incident or loss of limb.  If this is not categorized as a logistical nightmare, I really don't know what is!  The truth is that there is not a question in our minds as to how this all actually happened.  There's no somehow just some One.  God has had his hand in this transition every single crazy step of the way without a doubt.  He has blessed us and continues to bless us with incredibly generous family and friends and we thank Him everyday for you all. Thank you for your support and prayers I guarantee you that they have made a difference in our family and we give all the glory to the One who has directed us on this path. We could really go on and on about how beautiful this place is but we don't want y...

Excited boys at the Seattle airport!                                                                    Maui airport                                           ...

We finally made it!

It is slowly sinking in that we are finally here. It has been a LONG journey, especially the last two weeks. Our four little travelers have been troupers, though it's obviously been tough on them. We are looking forward to creating a new routine and settling in. We love our new home, and our new neighborhood, and are so grateful that God has led us every little step of the way, and lovingly provided more than enough. We will post pictures soon. We seem to be having technical difficulties doing so.

Hawaii here we come, or we mean, ARE

Hello from the Russells- We have officially landed in Maui for a week break before flying to Kona.  I know that sounds a little ridiculous- "break before Kona", but we had to take advantage of the opportunity while we could.  It is a relief to finally make it here as it was quite the process over the last week (not to mention the last 5 months as well).  Two trips to Seattle with four separate cars, one car on a barge, and count 'em 20, yes 20 bags !  If you could have only seen us with our 10 checked bags packed to the max, 10 carry-ons, 2 boosters, 1 car seat, 4 children, and 1 sleep deprived mommy with a cough like a sea lion with bronchitis and 1 daddy who delirious from counting and weighing bags.  Just for your information, when you get that many bags together they begin to reproduce like cottontails in the forest.  The problem we have is that you can't tell which ones are the boys and which are the girls to segregate them.  Only one bag i...
